It is estimated that there are approximately 700 mud volcanoes worldwide, and about 300 of them are located in Azerbaijan. Therefore, Azerbaijan is one of the countries with the highest concentration of active mud volcanoes in the world. During the tour, we reach the area where the volcanoes are located. Here, we observe this natural wonder formed by hot mud and gas bubbles rising from the ground. Mud volcanoes offer a unique landscape with small mud cones erupting and surrounding geological formations. Our guide explains in detail the formation process of the volcanoes, the geological structure of the region, and the historical and cultural significance of the volcanoes for the local population. After our visit to Gobustan, we turn our route toward the Haydar Aliyev Cultural Center, the symbol of modern Azerbaijan. Designed by the world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid, this building is one of Baku’s most iconic structures with its striking curved form and unusual architecture. Inside the center, besides cultural and art exhibitions, there is also a classic car collection that attracts great interest from guests. Here, you can see and photograph perfectly restored Soviet-era classic cars dating from the 1940s to the 1970s, rare models such as Volga, Moskvich, and Chaika from the USSR period, former official state vehicles used in state protocol, and vintage automobiles of high collectible value.
